We are delighted to bring you the third instalment of our illustrated series, ‘Luminous Words’, inspired by the Addresses of His Majesty The King.
Children in Bhutan have had the privilege to grow up before the eyes of their King, and to receive an Audience at every stage of their lives- His Majesty unfailingly meets students every year in the beginning of the school year and during His Majesty’s Royal Tours to their villages, during the various camps they attend, during scouting events, while they are at school, and before they begin college, at their colleges, during their convocation at the end of college, and during their orientation programme before they join the workforce. It is evident from His Majesty’s tireless efforts, that the youth of Bhutan occupy a special place in His Majesty’s heart. Our future, as His Majesty has reminded us numerous times, depends on them.
An enduring message that His Majesty has for the youth across the country, and of all ages, is to Never Give Up. By overcoming difficulties and pushing on, we can let our true selves shine.

Never Give Up
Excerpt from the Royal Address delivered to students of Sanawar School, Himachal Pradesh, in October 2014.
“I feel it’s important for young students to understand that life is full of surprises, and not all surprises will be good. There is always going to be a new challenge just around the corner. If you want to succeed, you must be ready to learn through your mistakes, become wiser, to understand every situation better, and to have resilience. Never Give Up!”
